Target to offer Video Game Reservations

Abe Arceo

,

Looks like Target is going to offer a new Video Game reservation system, starting this Sunday, April 19. Upcoming video game releases can be reserved at Target stores for $1, where customers will receive a collectible reservation card that features a design from the reserved game. Once you bring the reservation card back to Target to purchase the new game, you will be given a $5 Target Gift Card that will be good towards future purchases.

The first games that will be available through Target's new reservation system are Punch Out!! (Wii), Ghostbusters (multi-platform), Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (multi-platform), and UFC 2009 Undisputed (multi-platform.

It seems to be a win-win situation for both gamers and Target. Gamers will be able to reserve upcoming games and save a little money in the process, and Target gets the gaming customer in the store twice (once to purchase the card and once to pick up the game).

I actually find myself at Target more times than I would like to admit, and this just makes it easier and more enticing to reserve and purchase games at Target.
