Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - Heading to Xbox and PS3

Abe Arceo

, ,

I know for a fact that I wasn't the only one waiting for this. Releasing this summer, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be available for Xbox Live as well as the Playstation Network.

I remember popping in countless quarters in the arcades, actually, multiple arcades. For Xbox owners, it looks like this will set you back about 1,200 Microsoft Points. But for most of us that's not even an issue, because we're getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2!

Here is a snippet from IGN's news report:

Before we get into the small changes, we have to address the biggest one. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Xbox Live and PSN will have online play. All of the same online features that are present in Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix are there, since this game will be running on the same net code. That means you'll get the same amount of lag online (or lack of it), leaderboards, and ranked and unranked matches. The only feature missing will be the tournament mode.

As much as I'm excited for this game...I'm also just as scared to play it online knowing I'll be getting thrown around like a rag doll. But that's part of the fun eh!

Xbox Live Arcade: Banjo-Tooie releases April 29, 2009

News from IGN reports that the N64 port of Banjo-Tooie will be available for purchase and download on Xbox Live Arcade on April 29. The cost of the game is a little hefty, coming in at 1200 MS points, but will be packed with updates, tweaks, and a much better frame rate.

I'm probably part of the small group that has never played any of the games in the series, and apparently I'm missing out. I may have to put this one on my to-play list!

Xbox Live arcade games now available on Amazon.com

Xbox 360 gamers rejoice! Amazon.com is offering a new service that allows gamers to not only purchase Xbox Live points and subscriptions, but also arcade games!

The biggest attraction in my mind is that you can purchase Xbox Live arcade games for a dollar amount and skip dealing with points. The issue I had with purchasing Xbox Live points was that a majority of the time you would have points left over. And in some cases (actually, most cases) the left over points wouldn't be enough to purchase another game, usually themes or picture packs.

This is a great way to save money by just purchasing the arcade game that you want, instead of purchasing enough Xbox Live points for an arcade game and have some points left over that you didn't want in the first place.

I finally might have to purchase that full version of Castle Crashers ^_^
